Election interference by foreign governments exists, but election interference right here at home is beyond what most people have any idea. The naïveté by which supposedly sophisticated people allow themselves to be led around by the nose when it comes to media and online manipulation is one of the most self-defeating characteristics of modern progressives.

When the CIA was advising Juan Guido and his movement to unseat a socialist democratically chosen government they told his followers to boycott the election so as to not lend legitimacy to it. I've taken that advice ever since in my own country, haven't felt bad about that choice
