I genuinely do not understand Howard Shultz. Allowing Starbucks workers to unionize without making efforts to squash them - to simply obey the law - would cost him nothing and make him a bit of a hero to a lot of people. I've met Starbucks workers who say they love the company and just want it to live up to its own purported values. I believe them. I wish Shultz would.

He's just a dick in every facet of his life from Starbucks, to his property line disputes at his residence, to the sellout of the Sonics. Just who he is. Understand now?

He would make himself more vulnerable, exposing to leverage actions of the union. Might be more cost effective to just increase his labor budget.

Oh, come on, you understand him. These people are sociopaths. They can't stand the idea of somebody taking something away from them.
Because that’s how capitalists operate!! It’s not just about money, it’s also about power, it’s not about the individual, it’s about the collective capitalist system but you wouldn’t know that because you’re a liberal, not a socialist!!! 🙄🤦‍♂️

The workers in this case get tips. The math doesn't work to keep the store open if employees insist on big salary plus tips. If it did work, they would keep the store open and take the profit. No profit = no store.

To think, candidate Hillary had union-busting Howard Shultz listed to potentially serve as labor secretary if she had become president.

This is Howard Shultz in a nutshell. He’s a dick, he’s greedy, he doesn’t care about anything else but his own value, he covets power and control over others and no matter how much he has he’ll never be satisfied. That’s his definition of the American dream.

This is a cogent analysis you won’t hear from the likes of Pres. Joe Biden.

You don’t understand a lot of stuff. It’s called being stupid.
