The college loan debt should be forgiven completely because it should never have existed. It's the product of a predatory, economically unholy alliance of government/lenders/banks that thwarts the dreams of our young, setting people up for misery who should be entering the most creative and joy filled time of their lives. The system is immoral, unjust, and it's got to go. #CancelStudentDebt

Sounds good - but if you eliminate it then the write off should fall on the universities and not the tax payers

So we should make college free? Government should pay for every American to go to college? That鈥檚 the only way canceling student debt makes sense. Otherwise what鈥檚 the point? Doesn鈥檛 solve the problem. Just a bandaid on a larger issue. A very expensive bandaid .

You forgot to add colleges to your unholy alliance. They are the devil in this deal because they profit the most. Flush with cash they bloat their staffs with superfluous "administrators" and invest nothing into improving teaching and learning. This is where we bring the fight

Oooor you could reform the college loan repayment system, get rid of the compounding interest that borrowers are paying now and still make people responsible for the contract they signed. Lenders held up their end. Now it's the borrowers turn.

Great! Most Dems support Studen Loan Forgiveness. What we need to know is how you plan on getting it passed if you dont have the votes in Congress, because chances are you won't have the votes. Supporting it is the easy part, what's your actual plan?
