China has 22,000 miles of high-speed rail and we’re still celebrating every 200 miles we can get.      High-speed rail is 8 times more energy efficient than airplanes and 4 times more efficient than cars. The challenges are great but we need to keep pushing for it. scientificamerican.com/artic…

But that is still "Mass Transit"... Where a rider doesn't have much choice of what "kind" of person can sit next to you. Why many Americans really don't care, Democrats and Republicans alike. True meaning of: "When you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with!"

Billions spent for the train to nowhere, the price has quadrupled and still no train. So much for the Democrat track record with trains.

The challenges are not nearly as daunting when you understand MMT. High speed rail is a perfect example of an initiative well worth funding with the stroke of a pen. If the resources to manufacture and install are there, just allott the funds. NONE of it requires tax money.

20 miles of the Honolulu rail has cost $12.5 billion dollars so far & completion is 11 yrs. behind schedule. :( In China, they put you in prison for robbing the public.

While China has been busy building infrastructure for its people...Leadership in America has been busy with corruption...making billionaires of the rich and beggars of the middle class.

China has even more than that - over 26k miles. And not only do they continuously add more, but it evolves: electric, maglev, and now hyperloop.

US will not build anything that does not immediately return high profit. The CPC mostly owns and highly regulates transportation in China. Therefore, they build bc in doing so, they invest in commerce and quality of life, which in turn raises GDP.
