Health is not the absence of sickness; sickness is the absence of health. We have to face that the United States has the highest level of chronic illnesses than any other advanced society. 2/4

Healthcare starts with an Income floor in the form of a universal basic income.Only that will calm a lot of folks down and lead to better mental health too .

Hi @marwilliamson I am so happy to see you talking about healthcare. I feel we need a change, I hope I am not alone. Our employer based insurance system makes people feel that those who can't get healthcare from their job are either deadbeat for getting it from Medicaid or should go without. Neither is true. Not all employers can or do offer healthcare. That means we need a system that can be used by anyone. And as you point out it should promote health, including mental wellness, and not just reactively treat illness. It costs less to prevent an issue than to fix the issue and then help put prevention in place. Thanks for starting this critically important conversation!

This is great. Most chronic diseases are related to early childhood stress, so addressing poverty, and supporting new parents will build a healthful country. See ACES, etc. Emerging but ironclad science.
