The U.S. government is in the absurd position of supporting the bombing of Gaza and simultaneously telling Israel to protect civilians. How do you protect people you're killing? There's no valid justification for what Netanyahu is doing in Gaza. The U.S. should not support it. 🧵

Both peoples have the human right to a sovereign state, security and justice. That alone should be America's position, and what is happening in Gaza now does not support that. Our foreign policy cannot be guided here by what we can destroy but by what we can help create.

The time to lay plans for a 2-state solution is now. Neither Hamas nor Netanyahu are willing or capable of doing that, but world leaders can exert more pressure on them than they are now. The U.S. should be helping to lead that effort. Our highest ally should be humanity itself.

Most likely, the ‘two state’ solution died September 25, 2003 with the death of the Palestinian-American Scholar, Anwar [Edward] Said [Columbia faculty]. The demographics [Arab majority] means that Israelis must choose between a democratic Arab or Zionist apartheid state.

Do you think Hamas deserves a state? If so and you have supporters then you are no different than the gazans that " voted" for the evil Hamas. Marianne what is wrong with you. You don't see evil?

isr*el has NO right to continue existing on stolen land. NOBODY gets to create a “country” solely for their own religion especially not on stolen land.
