The U.S. government is in the absurd position of supporting the bombing of Gaza and simultaneously telling Israel to protect civilians. How do you protect people you're killing? There's no valid justification for what Netanyahu is doing in Gaza. The U.S. should not support it. 🧵

Both peoples have the human right to a sovereign state, security and justice. That alone should be America's position, and what is happening in Gaza now does not support that. Our foreign policy cannot be guided here by what we can destroy but by what we can help create.

The time to lay plans for a 2-state solution is now. Neither Hamas nor Netanyahu are willing or capable of doing that, but world leaders can exert more pressure on them than they are now. The U.S. should be helping to lead that effort. Our highest ally should be humanity itself.

What should Israel do? It’s not OK to be against w/o suggestions solutions.

The U.S. GOVERNMENT is the single largest entity responsible for generating terrorism around the world. The military industrial complex constantly requires a boogeyman to fight against and arm against resulting in perpetual conflicts and wars across the world.

Trying to simplify a complex issue, will not be possible. I think Israel is justified, in targeted operations at the Hamas militants. I think Palestinians are correct that the Israeli settlers have been illegally stealing Palestinian lands for a long time.

There is ample justification to finally stop the endless Hamas rocket barrages, suicide bombers, and slaughter of Israelis. Fools like you have no answers, only allowing the cycle to continue.

Absurd is the kindest word here; hypocrites is a better one. What WE 🇺🇸are doing is beyond supporting Israel’s “right to defend itself,” which it legally does not. We 🇺🇸 ARE joint partners in the war on Gaza & are RESPONSIBLE for every casualty. We 🇺🇸 are legally war criminals.

even if you get genocide joe to answer how exactly he protects the people he's killing in the middle east, he's still got the split blood of one hundred thousand US citizens a year via his war on drugs to explain too

We can start voting for those who consistently speak the values we want as national values. Voting from fear and for those we think others want did not get us good national values. If we vote our own best interest, we win.

I don’t think the Israelis much care what the U.S. says. Their military actions would continue even if we told them to stop. I have stated for years that Bibi Netanyahu is the butcher of Gaza and should never be prime minister, Israelis thought otherwise
