The United States should not be supporting Israel’s war in Gaza. Sometimes a friend shakes a friend by the shoulders and says “What the hell are you doing?? You have got to stop.” 1/5

The best thing that could happen now is for Netanyahu to resign. With new Israeli leadership, the United States should help build an international consortium including major Arab powers laying plans for the only real solution: 2 states with equal safety and security. 3/5

The stance of the United States should be: 1) Permanent ceasefire, 2) return of the rest of the hostages, and 3) an immediate peace conference to establish a 2-state solution. That is the only way . 5/5

But wait. A permanent ceasefire is an antithesis to Hamas’s declared goal, against its raison d’etre. How can your proposed stance be a reality with Hamas still in Gaza?

ok Marianne about two months late on this but OBVIOUSLY THIS IS THE ANSWER. Except Israel needs to be held accountable to an unprecedented degree for their terrorism and genocide they've carried out not only this year but their whole existence.

You forgot the key ingredients: 1. Stop the Genocide (it's not a war) 2. End occupation 3. End Apartheid State 4. End siege/blockade 5. Free Palestinian prisoners 6. Allow Palestinians to chose their own government. 7. Remove Israeli settlements 8. Return land to Palestinians

A respectable position, however, Israel has destroyed Palestine’s capacity for economic self determination in the short and midterm. Additionally they have denied expelled Palestinians the right of return, and committed many atrocities. I think reparations is appropriate
