What’s infuriating about the establishment Democrats who go apoplectic re Trump’s increasing authoritarianism is not that they’re wrong. What’s infuriating is their refusal to recognize that the way to counter it effectively is to offer people a more attractive alternative: MedicareForAll, tuition free college and tech school, subsidized childcare, a guaranteed living wage etc. They actively suppress the voice of the one Democratic candidate whose message would defeat Donald Trump. While those sound like good ideas the majority of Americans will not vote for a candidate who is relatively unknown and supports those ideas, Biden is the only option against Trump that is realistic.
