What’s infuriating about the establishment Democrats who go apoplectic re Trump’s increasing authoritarianism is not that they’re wrong. What’s infuriating is their refusal to recognize that the way to counter it effectively is to offer people a more attractive alternative: MedicareForAll, tuition free college and tech school, subsidized childcare, a guaranteed living wage etc. They actively suppress the voice of the one Democratic candidate whose message would defeat Donald Trump. Democrats want to win by eliminating all competition, not by being the best choice in a rich democracy of voter options. The only thing they oppose more strongly than Trump is a non-establishment Democrat candidate that won’t do their bidding. They should be stripped of their name. There’s nothing democratic about today’s Democratic Party.
