This Texas House bill will create rampant fear and desperation among people who do not deserve this treatment. People who left their homes due to the most traumatic circumstances then come to a place where they’re traumatized further by the government of the country they fled to. The government of Texas is perpetrating collective and unconstitutional abuse on a vulnerable population. I hope their mean-spiritedness will be struck down in Court.

We are a nation of laws. People have to enter the country legally. Allowing people to walk across the border illegally and not enforcing our immigration laws created false expectations and was disservice to everyone involved, including our own citizens.

The cruelty is the point.

Entering the US illegally is a crime. It’s not collective punishment to enforce US law.

How do you deport "people suspected" without due process? That's unconstitutional. Not that the constitution has ever held much sway in Texas.

You’re completely out of touch with reality and suicidally naive.

As always, the cruelty is the point, and a large block of voters want to see cruelty.
