For Israel to prosecute an all out war on Gaza is already a catastrophe for the people of Gaza. It can easily become a catastrophe for the people of Israel as well. There’s no end game there, for them or for the rest of the world, that doesn’t multiply the horror. The United States should join an international consortium - Egypt, Jordan and others - in efforts to secure release of the hostages and cessation of the bombing. #ceasefire

I am having a hard time imagining a cease fire benefiting peace when Hamas wants to destroy Israel. Iran and Russia are supporting them. Arab countries don’t condemn Hamas, many have financed them. Hamas doesn’t care about its people…what is Israel to do?

There is no country with more power over Israel than the US, and Israel is the main aggressor in all of the conflicts they're involved in. The US already has the power to immediately end any conflict Israel is involved in, all it would take is a word from the US president.
