Responded to the mass shooting in Maine last night, our new Speaker of the House said prayer is appropriate at a time like this. That’s it. That was his response. 1/3

Darn right, Mr. Speaker. So is a ban on assault weapons, universal background checks, banning bump stocks and high-capacity magazines, and more. Using prayer as cover for the political unwillingness to address earthly problems is a mockery of faith. 2/3

Mental illness is way more dangerous than guns, failure to acknowledge that will never earn you my vote.

Guns are, quite specifically NOT supposed to be safe. We have the 2nd amendment specifically for putting the hands of deadly force into the populace. Maybe learn a little bit of history.

I've read this page. It's well written thorough and appropriate. I agree with all of it. I'm sure lots of Democrats agree. Your problem is that you cannot get it through a GOP Congress. I don't know how to shame those people into having a conscience. But it's needed

Does it make you feel good making money off people’s emotions and death? You know Congress can’t do anything right? That’s why the Dems did nothing when they had control! The CA Supreme Court ruled against what you want! Yes, CALIFORNIA!

Also a better way, is when you show up on the FBI watchlist after making threats to shoot up a military facility and spending time in a mental institution the FBI or state and local police get off their ass and do something about it.
