Responded to the mass shooting in Maine last night, our new Speaker of the House said prayer is appropriate at a time like this. That’s it. That was his response. 1/3

Darn right, Mr. Speaker. So is a ban on assault weapons, universal background checks, banning bump stocks and high-capacity magazines, and more. Using prayer as cover for the political unwillingness to address earthly problems is a mockery of faith. 2/3

We've done these in part or in whole. They had no impact. "Assault weapons" are a fraction of the percent of gun murders in the county. Hand guns are far and away the bigger issue. And of which are probably largely illegally possessed as it it.

Collective punishment seems to be the bureaucratic, HR class solution to every problem.

Can you define an “assault weapon”? Universal background checks are a thing, and in many areas that have bans against high capacity magazines, INCLUDING MAINE, there are still shootings, I’d say more often than states without them, so please tell me what you’re talking about 😂🤡

*regular capacity magazines. There is no such thing as high capacity magazine.
