Responded to the mass shooting in Maine last night, our new Speaker of the House said prayer is appropriate at a time like this. That’s it. That was his response. 1/3

Darn right, Mr. Speaker. So is a ban on assault weapons, universal background checks, banning bump stocks and high-capacity magazines, and more. Using prayer as cover for the political unwillingness to address earthly problems is a mockery of faith. 2/3

Prayer is appropriate and causes wise people to take wise actions that are thought out and not a knee jerk reaction

Prayer is all we can do....the rest is in the hands of law enforcement. We pray for the recently killed and their families and even the killer. But go ahead and mock prayers. Mike Johnson has not power over some killer in Maine...glad he doesn't pander like Pelosi would have

This is why women don't belong in public office. They care more about their feelings than facts. Gun control has never worked. It only disarms law biding citizens.

Maybe he could have used the moment to make a political attack on the other party, like you choose to do.

There are so many acts of violence in this country every day now You could begin talking in the morning. And by midnight still not be done. Was addressing tragedies. only in short statements.
Exactly. Banning pharmaceutical advertisements would be much easier and have a greater positive impact on society.
A buy back would get rid of most, and than effectively make it impossible to have any other gun outside the house
