Responded to the mass shooting in Maine last night, our new Speaker of the House said prayer is appropriate at a time like this. That’s it. That was his response. 1/3

Darn right, Mr. Speaker. So is a ban on assault weapons, universal background checks, banning bump stocks and high-capacity magazines, and more. Using prayer as cover for the political unwillingness to address earthly problems is a mockery of faith. 2/3

Legislation is not the appropriate response to mass shootings, ever.

How about this for gun control idea We give tax funded classes on how to properly handle weapons. You know, the basics Like Tigger discipline Always Keep the Muzzle Pointed in a Safe Direction Etc. And we already do universal background checks

Repeal the second. I want a major candidate running unabashedly on repealing the second amendment.

I live in Idaho which has the second highest percentage of gun ownership in the United States but among the lowest homicide rate of just 2.2 per 100,000. Illinois with strong gun control is 12.3. How safe you are is more determined by the people and its government than gun control.
