You are a fool to characterize it as an eye for an eye.
The IDF could take lots of eyes very quickly if it wanted to. Instead they are moving quite deliberately to remove the terrorists even at considerable risk to their own troops.
Remember a choice open to Israel would be to eliminate all in Gaza with a few tactical or lower level nukes. The US chose that route in Japan. Appreciate the fact that Israel wants to do better.
