The president continuing to build the wall on the Southern border is a betrayal of a campaign promise. It's also a desperate bid for approval by the border hardliners who want a president to be "tough on the border."

It's not just the selling out of the soul of his campaign, it's the selling out of the soul of this country. And by the way, it's an idiotic expenditure of billions of dollars. If people want to get in badly enough, they will simply build tunnels underneath the wall.

Once again, we are dealing with a problem on the level of the symptom and not the cause. As President I will end sanctions against Cuba and Venezuela, and seek to end every US policy in Latin America that continues a legacy of economic colonialism on that continent.

I will begin the process of ending America's War on Drugs, thus undercutting the power of the drug cartels who are creating such heinous violence from which people throughout Latin America are trying to escape.

For a fraction of what we spend on the Drug War (billions) and the wall (billions), we can fix our broken asylum system and create gateways through which immigrants can enter legally and then transition within a year to lives in America as productive and contributive citizens.

When I am president, people who have been traumatized in their home countries in ways the average person cannot even imagine, will not be retraumatized at the U.S. border.

Disingenuous take. He can't unilaterally redirect the funds that have been appointed for that purpose.
President Biden explains why his administration was legally obligated to use the money appropriated for the border wall in 2019 for it's designed purpose. The President can't unilaterally re-appropriate federal funds - Congress (both houses) have to pass legislation to do that.

So what is the solution to the flood of slave labor demanded by the economy and the stress put on municipal infrastructure and lack of housing Marianne? It's really easy to wag a finger and say what's wrong. What's your proposal for the border crisis?

Or maybe… just maybe, it’s cause we’re having record numbers passing through the southern border and we helped created an entire global industry for the cartels.

I haven’t seen you in a border town to see the travesty’s yet….just saying.

@marwilliamson - I agree we need to get to the cause. But that will take time - likely years to truly make a dent in reversing these issues. Therefore, the issues needs a short term solution AND a long term one. Doing only one will simply not work. What's your short term fix?

Marianne - how many of those are you inviting into your home?

I had a little faith in you. It's gone now. If you don't know how money in government works and you are using it as an excuse to attack Biden, then run as an Independent, or drop out.

You have to stop the bleeding BEFORE you can repair the problem

Do you realize you're wasting everyone's time, running in The Democratic Party, including your own?
