Anne Frank must be reduced to a lifeless character in a book for some Texas parents to be OK with her diary being presented to their children as literature/historical text on the Holocaust. Portraying her as a unique living, breathing human is just too much for them.

Haven’t read it, but evidently included more/more graphic “sexual” content than the previous published version that I read in 6th grade. But riddle me this - what is the conservative obsession with sex? Love guns, hate sex. I can’t comprehend the dichotomy.
