A major way to help defeat the drug cartels is to dry up their market. End the War on Drugs. Decriminalize, then legalize  and regulate. 1/3

For a fraction of the $100B we spend every year on the failed Drug War, we can help establish a national network of recovery options. We need to move from criminalization to seeing addiction as a health issue. We don't need a Drug czar; we need a Recovery czar. 2/3

Nixon knew drugs wasn't "public enemy #1" when he started the Drug War. It's done more to exacerbate than to solve the problem, including that almost half of federal prisoners are non-violent drug offenders. Enough. Time for a new beginning. 3/3 marianne2024.com

Absolutely! Legalize them all and would end the power of the cartels. And the violence. In stead of supply side, hit the demand side. Simple, However, there's plenty of good money to be made just keeping it the way it is

John Erlichman admitted the War on Drugs was created to jail & scorn black people and protesters. Even if/when drugs are legal, cartels gonna find some other contraband to sell & white supremacists gonna create chaos & kill.

This is one of the few issues I agree with you on. Most problems are caused by gov. intervention. Getting the gov. out of the way would solve so many problems. Democrats want more intervention in most cases though. Why not apply this logic to other issues?

this great idea requires one more incredibly difficult ingredient .. a mental health system that works .

It has to happen nationally, not individual state at a time, with some not participating Oregon tried to do it and it devastated them Unless it's nationally it won't work Plus there has to be comprehensive and widespread drug health and healing systems at each step

How about we legalize and regulate vaping and cigarettes. Then after 50 years have the states sue the cigarette companies because they are unsafe.

You play your role well. I wonder if there’s anyone still believing that bedtime story about drugs? You know, just as I know, open border is all about trafficking kids! Shame on you Marianne for selling your soul. Why, oh why Lord, why did you send me in 2020 to “help” her?
