.@RobertKennedyJr says it is time to shut down the border. He visited & saw the abuses of the cartel firsthand. Kennedy wants to provide free, federal ID cards to Americans. "If you say you can't get a job without federal ID, the border is going to shut down overnight."

The abuses of the drug cartels aren’t only at the border. The even worse violence is what the migrants are trying to escape to begin with! The last thing we should do is cut off all means of escape entirely. Obviously we need more legal and orderly means of entry and asylum - a Congressional failure to achieve over decades. Also, if we’re to seriously start defeating the drug cartels we should begin by ending the Drug War.

Except you didn't listen to him. Of the 300 families he interviewed 1 was from the America's. The rest were from everywhere the drug cartels are ADVERTISING to get them here. Shut the border down.

How do you plan to “shut the border down?” Do you think it’s a light switch? The Southern border is almost 2,000 miles. Do you see a wall? A wall of soldiers? What? (And yes, I listened to him.)

I agree with ending the drug war but nothing else you said made any sense when it comes to the issue of migrants from all over the world flooding through our southern boarder and causing stress in communities around our country. I’m with RKFJ 100% on this

Our government is also part of this "money making" at the border, with the "care facilities" . . . I just can't believe you even state what you do without any hands on down there.

2 days ago 2 people OD'd in my community, thankfully they both lived. One was one of my bosses neice. Do you know what we're trying to escape on this side? Drugs, dead family/friends, violence, gangs, ect. My Rez is full of boarder related ills.

This goes far beyond the issue of drugs. It is often US policy – esp. our war policies including the Ukraine war – which are causing the turmoil in the world. THAT is what we must change. First and foremost, the US government exists to protect the interests of Americans.

Lets be real, migrants are risking bodily harm to get through our southern boarder illegally. If you spent time there like RFK Jr. did you would realize that they are not all from South American countries but from all over the world. It begs the question if they are truly asylum seekers why aren't they asking for asylum in the first country they reach? Most of these migrants would not meet the standard the US standard for asylum anyways. The cartels do what they do because the current administrations policy encourages this behavior. It sound like you would not change it. Yes the boarder is completely out of control and needs to be shut down, we need to reset our legal immigration policy and tools so its functional and orderly. Anyone who doesn't want proper control of our boarders is not qualified to be President. You clearly aren't cut out for the job.

We should also go after big pharma who actually started the opioid crisis people usually don’t start off using fentanyl or heroin.
