FiveThirtyEight reports the national polling data today, but leaves me out entirely. Written underneath their graph is that they're only reporting on "major candidates."🧵

My monthly average is 6.3%, and Quinnipiac today has me at 8%. Meanwhile, on the Republican side FiveThirtyEight reports on Vivek Ramaswamy at 7%, Niki Haley at 5.9%, Mike Pence at 5.1%, Chris Christie at 3.2% and several others even lower.

FiveThirtyEight likes to brand itself as highly objective and committed to the data, but this contradicts that. This is how political elites control the narrative. Just as in the old Soviet Union, people are told "You have choice - but we'll tell you what your choices are."

Mainstream media and analysts do the bidding of the elite, and have no listening for a candidate who wants government to do the bidding of the people. @Fivethirtyeight do better.

Just like in the Soviet Union? C’mon, such an overreaction to compare this omission by one group to Russia? You have zero political experience (we experienced that in Trump), you were a blip during the 2020 debates and primaries. So yeah, you’re not a major candidate.

If you bash the USSR with blatant lies like this, you are not a socialist. Just admit the fact that the US state and corporate conglomerate are evil, plain and simple.

Yes and even after they give you the "illusion" of their choices, they insert their selection anyway. It's all a complete fraud.

You’re not winning votes with the real left by shit talking the USSR.

I think "You have choice - but we'll tell you what your choices are" has always described the U.S. system very nicely. No need to drag the U.S.S.R. into it.

They have never been objective. We let the data freaks pretend to be robots but they are not. Nate Silver has many agenda—all of which involve upholding systems of oppression at any cost

Can we at least come up with a more sophisticated political narrative that doesn't pretend like Nate Silver is a political "elite"?
