Not really. The US complexity is in transitioning from a fully formed, massively complex existing industry. The systems in these other countries largely evolved into their single payer, universal, quasi-socialist form, from simple starts, and didn't require massive overhaul. So apples and oranges.

Define "work." If "work(s)" means terribly long wait times for life-saving procedures in nearly every one of those countries, coupled with ridiculously high tax rates, then sure. It works. 😆
