The people of Atlanta and north Georgia deserve quality public safety. This requires investment in the police and fire departments. The representatives of GA approved this new training facility. Democracy in action. Stop Cop City folks are not supported here. Some are violent.

Investment in police and fire departments can be appropriate, if the money is allocated well. Copy City is not that. It is a dangerous separation of domestic policing from the population the police are meant to serve, creating an us versus them mentality that is decidedly inappropriate. Cop City is more like a military base for domestic police, and that is a very bad idea. It does not support the population, and it will be very difficult to monitor its operations. Also, many of those who oppose Cop City are absolutely from Atlanta.

Copy City is a made-up term by the protesters. Atlanta and the towns/cities around it have decrepit training facilities. We have decided to invest in new facilities. There is no "dangerous separation" here. There's a general consensus at the local and state levels for it.
