It’s easy to say ‘cancel all student debt,’ then ignore the objections some of which deserve a reasoned response.
It’s much harder to devise a plan in which ALL Americans will share the costs and ALL Americans will share in the benefits.
Below is my national education/workforce training plan to save the American middle class and the American idea for generations to come, which is in the vital interests of the United States, consistent with US Constitution ‘to promote the general welfare.’
Solution to fix American student loan debt and to fix failed system of American education based on JFK’s philosophy of responsible pragmatism:
. Execute plan to have American primary/secondary education lead the world within ten years with appropriate funding and curriculum.
. Cap tuition and other college costs.
. Strip out 50% of the costs and improve quality by having best in world instructors teach over internet, combined/augmented with physical class attendance as appropriate.
. Blue collar workers included with best in world workforce training.
. Discharge all American student debt.
. US government funds best in world education/workforce training for ALL Americans.
. Corporations pay education/workforce training tax as educated workforce beneficiaries.
.Employed graduates pay a modest education/workforce training tax as % of income for twenty years.
. All visa labor racketeering schemes are abolished and replaced with incentives to encourage educating, training, hiring American citizens.
. National education/workforce training goals set each year with vigorous effort to meet them
with incentives for students, teachers, schools, and corporations who meet or exceed them.
. Special attention given to the sciences including medicine, nursing, information technology to provide the high skilled workforce needed for United States to lead world into next century.
. Every elected official in United States must provide a plan to achieve education/workforce training goals in their jurisdiction and be held accountable.
. Noise ordinances strictly enforced against nuisance noise which can be either heard or discerned inside one’s home with the windows and doors closed.
