Long Covid is a continuing disaster for thousands and possibly millions of Americans. The last thing they should have to worry about is medical costs. We need to heavily fund biomedical research necessary for curative treatments, and this makes one more reason why the country is in desperate need of Medicare for All. cnn.com/2023/08/21/health/lo…

NOT linked to our jobs. Malignant exploiting capitalists R trying 2 keep US workers N a strangle-hold so we don't easily quit or move 2 other jobs Bcause we're afraid of losing our Nsurance. This allows them 2 treat us like property--and they do.

Stop being disingenuous. When 20-30% of those infected with Covid get along Covid, and people get reinfected 2-3 times a year, the number is tens of millions. Sugarcoating reality makes you as complicit as those memory holing and whitewashing Covid.

People don’t get it. Potentially 1-in-3 infections results in debilitating L0NG C0VlD for at least 2 years after infection. 65% if hospitalized. How can we ignore this or pretend it can’t happen to us? How can a government just let its population spread a disease that does that?
At 2 years, risks for L0NG C0VlD remained elevated for 31% of nonhospitalized and 65% for hospitalized individuals. There you go. Another study that says 1 in 3 infected people have long term illness even if not hospitalized. Much worse if hospitalized. buff.ly/45gYC1y

I have to say, I admire that @marwilliamson has lately been using her platform to call attention to Covid and Long Covid and explicitly link it to the need for Medicare For All when so many have decided to “move on” from the issue.

* we should heavily fund bio tech that the public maintains ownership of and charges private companies to use those resources to make a profit off of.

The U.S. government can't make the postal service efficient, nor increase the quality of Amtrak. They've lost track of $BILLIONS inside the Pentagon... ...and you want this same government making decisions on our private healthcare?

As one of the millions of people who has been disabled by Long Covid - thank you! Workers were sacrificed to COVID to keep the economy moving and abandoned to rot without support when it destroyed their bodies.
