The biggest problem is that whoever wrote this tweet didn’t even realize how outrageous it is. A one-time $700 assistance check to an entire household that just lost everything… Note that that is considered the “serious” people. If you’re not more serious than that about human suffering, then you’re not serious at all.

2. We're laser-focused on getting aid to survivors, including Critical Needs Assistance: a one-time $700 payment per household offering relief during an unimaginably difficult time. We have staff on the ground dedicated to helping survivors navigate the registration process.

This why you are not a serious person. $700 is the maximum INITIAL amount. There are more resources FEMA offers. fema.gov/disaster/4724/rumor…

The problem with whoever wrote your tweet is they didn't understand this one-time check is in addition to all of the federal aid and resources being sent and mobilized. Honestly, stick to new-agey books.

Probably also giving a big grant to the developers who want to convert the land use to something more profitable for them, with 10% for the big guy.

He's out of touch. 700 won't help these people enough.

That's the most immediate cash allowable from FEMA without a special appropriation. I'm sure Biden and Democrats would be amenable to expanded aid. Not sure about Republicans.

You know DAMN well that's immediate fema help, not remotely the final assistance

You aren't going to delete this inflammatory tweet directed at the President when you know, if you don't you should, that it is misinformation?!?! The largest check they can give through this program is $700! But you don't have the moral compass to delete a lie. U R a joke.

$700 upfront. Then follow up tweets talk about FEMA applications. Please be clear about this stuff right now. Hawai’i deserves more than playing politics. If you wanted change, you’d run for Congress.

If you want to change this, you need to run for Congress, not for President. The $700 max is set by statute.
