The biggest problem is that whoever wrote this tweet didn’t even realize how outrageous it is. A one-time $700 assistance check to an entire household that just lost everything… Note that that is considered the “serious” people. If you’re not more serious than that about human suffering, then you’re not serious at all.

2. We're laser-focused on getting aid to survivors, including Critical Needs Assistance: a one-time $700 payment per household offering relief during an unimaginably difficult time. We have staff on the ground dedicated to helping survivors navigate the registration process.

$700 isn’t the totality of aid. It’s simply the highest amount Biden can send without congressional approval.

In their defense, this is the most they can give without getting congressional approval. The should have mentioned that though.

It's 700 in emergency funds that ppl can get into their hands immediately for things they need immediately - not the entirety of the relief available to them - you are so uninformed & so absolutely lacking in intellectual curiosity it's appalling you think you should be president

really???? guess they do not know what surviving climate crisis is- that would barely cover rent/groceries/or a medical emergency. WE NEED to be super proactive on climate change- all this $$$ going to the border wall - for faux security - meanwhile...

Biden could just as well have thrown paper towels out. That's about how far $700 will go in Hawaii. Pathetic.
