This is a complex problem- including corporate greed coupled with our current lifestyle choices. If one thinks things are going to get better anytime soon, esp with major geopolitical shifts and funding a war with billions of taxpayer money, they are sadly delusional. Consider also that for the majority of those in their 20s, for decades many had roommates or got married. This greatly impacts personal economics. Folks also weren’t spending nearly as much money on eating out, Uber eats, phones, alcohol, weed or buying as much clothing and fast fashion, streaming services, etc. They just didn’t have that type of disposable income that we have all gotten used to being ‘normal’ and ‘necessary’.
