We could’ve had a world-class environmentalist as president in 2000. This will turn out to be - in fact it already is turning out to be - one of the great tragedies in American history.

I'm not sure I want Al Gore in charge when planes hit the Twin Towers... No offense, but Bush handled that about as well as anyone could have and the Clintons omitted a lot of information that allowed it to happen over bitterness. What Bush did AFTERWARDS I'm against. But his initial reaction and strength was admirable. One of my proudest moments of a POTUS.
