My top 3 concerns as a working class person are affordable healthcare, affordable housing, and affordable groceries. I am not able to afford all 3. I have to pick and choose. Do I want shelter this month or food? For a living, I'm a delivery driver and I have to pass a DOT medical exam in order to do my job. Recently, I failed my exam because my blood pressure was too high. So I had to go to a doctor without insurance. I am now paying a $10/month payment plan on medical bills that cost me around $400 per appointment to treat my high blood pressure otherwise I can no longer legally keep my job. My medical debt in the last 3 months has grown to over $3000.
