Covid is still a threat, and there are many long covid sufferers. We should reinstate mask mandates in healthcare settings; ensure free high quality masks and PCR tests; and mandate effective air filtration for all public transportation, buildings, and businesses.

Whoever is running your campaign made a big boo boo allowing you to post this. This post is a dealbreaker for me.

These may be valid points, but now that we have an environment of mass immunity to covid, the proposal would be more rational if it cited the risk from many different endemic viruses, and post-viral syndromes, rather than continuing to hinge the argument on covid. For example, “up to 75% of ME/CFS cases report an infection-like episode preceding the onset of their illness” (doi.org/10.1038/s41591-022-0…). And pre-pandemic coronaviruses can cause hospitalizations, and a case fatality rate of 9-25% among hospitalized patients (doi.org/10.1038/s41598-021-8…).

This crap right here is not only why you'll never be president, but why you'll never be taken seriously by anyone.

Many physicians agree. The callous disregard of ongoing mortality, significant morbidity from chronic symptoms (longCOVID), and isolation of any vulnerable is harming us collectively. Masks and ventilation are easy. And we need our vaccines to be caught up with circulating strains.

How about this? You mask yourself. You’re free to wear 3 N95 masks and live in isolation in a HEPA filtered room, testing yourself 3x a day and getting weekly boosters. Why should anyone else who doesn’t WANT these things do what you want? Makes 0 sense.
