The government sends more on social welfare than corporate welfare and the military combined. Get rid of all welfare and let people decide what their money's spent on, instead of paying yourself to steal and redistribute it.

Too much centralized power seems to be a bad thing. Localized incentives in communities for electricity (solar/wind), regenerative agriculture, green space, businesses & trades education, etc would probably be more resilient than "top down" edicts.
