Something is seriously wrong, on a deeper level than most people are allowing themselves to take in. How, after everything that has happened in this country, did the policeman in this case think he could do this? I will begin the process of fundamental police reform on Day 1.
Jadarrius Rose. 24 y/o truck driver. Cops pulled him over for missing mudflap. Guns drawn. Terrified, he drove off. Called 911. Told them he was scared for his life. When he did stop, still on w/ 911, hands raised, a cop released a dog on him. Terror. abcnews.go.com/amp/US/die-ja…

Police are a very expensive joke played on all of us. Their bloated budgets squeeze out funding for social and education programs that would truly keep us safe. Taxpayers don't need a "defund." We need a "REFUND."

This is a problem the police have that goes beyond skin color. One big step would be pushing through a law that significantly reduces the scope of qualified immunity, or eliminates it altogether. Also, make police unions liable for the lawsuits won against officers they defend.

Given the track record of these stories it's very likely that what is being described isn't what happened.

I witnessed a #Detroit K9 officer threaten to sicc a police dog on a man the liquor store owner didn't like. I spoke up and got asked why I was getting involved.

By what process? What will be your first steps? Is it something you can executive order into being? Or will you need the cooperation of others?

Does she not see the irony in her statement? She's aligned herself with a party that brazenly sabotaged the last progressive who ran in that party and they will surely do it again. She's either in denial or she is not serious about winning.

You can't do it by passing new laws. Cops don't know the laws. Cops don't follow the laws. They investigate themselves and they are unionized. How would you do it?

Missing mudflap, legit reason to pull over a semi? Yes, vehicle safety rules. But why wouldn't he stop, unless he knew there was more to this. Back when NAFTA was brewing, there was talk to let Mexican trucks on our highways, like "free pass thru Customs." To Break Teamsters?
