Of course what you are saying is a thing. Problem is, if you - or anyone - gets into the white house - so what. What can you possibly do to truly change these issues? What can the executive branch actually do here? Aren't these issues basically maintained by congress critters?

The executive branch is a co-equal branch of government. From agency directors to cabinet appointments to executive orders to the bully pulpit to commander-in-chief, the president can do a lot - starting with the articulation of a more just and ethical vision for the country.
