I strongly denounce comments made earlier this week by RFK Jr. implying that Ashkenazi Jews and Chinese were relatively "spared" by COVID-19, while Caucasian and Black people were specifically targeted. Whether intentionally or not, his remarks amplify sinister and unfounded notions that are both anti-Semitic and anti-Chinese.🧵

Kennedy’s “I’m only asking questions” use of the most anti-Semitic tropes is unacceptable. As a Jewish American candidate in the 2024 presidential race, I stand against this covert racism writ large. Such language serves only to divide us further at a moment when we need desperately to unite.

"It could be argued" is your argument unless you argue against it expressly.

It's not only anti-semitic, it's also anti-Chinese.

Why is that antisemitism? Would it be different if he had said “European whites” were spared?

I respect you but I don’t think his comments were bad. You have to capitalize though, do your thang!

I respect you a lot Marianne, but those comments of his were in no way anti-Semitic…

I think it was conspiratorial thinking gone too far, without scientific basis. I don't think Kennedy is antisemitic or anti-Chinese, but these comments were a smack in the face to someone who wanted to back him and excuse his more "off the wall" suggestions from the past.
