I strongly denounce comments made earlier this week by RFK Jr. implying that Ashkenazi Jews and Chinese were relatively "spared" by COVID-19, while Caucasian and Black people were specifically targeted. Whether intentionally or not, his remarks amplify sinister and unfounded notions that are both anti-Semitic and anti-Chinese.🧵

Kennedy’s “I’m only asking questions” use of the most anti-Semitic tropes is unacceptable. As a Jewish American candidate in the 2024 presidential race, I stand against this covert racism writ large. Such language serves only to divide us further at a moment when we need desperately to unite.

Your assumption they are "unfounded" shows clear bias for these groups...

Sorry, I disagree. This was not antisemitic. He also said “there’s an argument for”, he never said it was what he believed. And maybe he has data that we don’t have.

Don’t fall for it. The media lied about what he said

The idea that the Chinese were “spared” is ludicrous. They were welding people into their apartments in China.

He references an actual study with real data. Probably not something you would understand.

If #RFKJr is going to talk like a Republican, then he should run as one.

Nooo that is not what he said! He even shares the data on which this was based. Devastating that you don't share his views....
