They overturned Roe v. Wade. They ended Affirmative Action. Now they've rejected Biden's student loan forgiveness plan. Today's SCOTUS works to proactively diminish the rights and opportunities of the people of the United States. (Biden can get around this, by the way.) 1/2

As President, I will expand the Court if necessary. Nothing in the Constitution says it's limited to 9 justices. We must also introduce ethics rules for SCOTUS justices, and consider term limits. Our current SCOTUS has gone rogue in service to their corporatist sponsors.2/2

The Supreme Court is tasked with limiting executive overreach. For a President to deem it “necessary” (your word!) to pack the Court in order to do what she wants, damn the Constitution—because the ruling is, like, bad vibes?—well, that’s why I call you a #TieDyeTotalitarian!

So, if you can't get YOUR way, you will change the rules? Not a good stance, and ine that should be disqualifying. Disappointed in your stance.

Marianne, Biden had total control of the government for two years. Why didn't he use legislation for student loan forgiveness or gun control? This is totally on him. Our constitution does not allow for a dictator. You're too smart to believe it's the court's fault.

You've lost me. It was about whether or not these things are Constitutional. What you want are votes based on ideologies. To expand the court to get a favorable ruling that doesn't align with the Constitution is spitting on what Democracy looks like. Those judges were all confirmed by the Senate. The people decided who was in that Senate, in the Presidency, and gave them that power Democratically. Anything else is changing rules to fit an agenda, kinda like the voting rules. I thought you were someone else. That's my bad.

Packing the Supreme Court refers to the act of increasing the number of justices on the Supreme Court in order to change its ideological composition and secure favorable decisions. This can be done by expanding the number of seats on the court and appointing justices who align with a particular political agenda. The practice has been controversial, as it is seen by some as a way to undermine the independence and impartiality of the judiciary.
