Today’s Supreme Court decision barring Affirmative Action in college admissions is an unfortunate step backward in America’s commitment to social justice. But the deeper problem is that such programs should have ever been necessary to begin with. 1/2

Systemic racism begins in early childhood in the United States, and dealing with it there is how we will override the deepening racial injustices only exacerbated by today’s decision. Unequal opportunity in childhood education is where the problem begins and where we will ultimately solve it. 2/2

My commitment is to radically increase America’s commitment to every American child - to make every public school a palace of learning, culture and the arts. 3/3

Nice pandering. Next time you undergo a serious operation, make sure to tell the hospital you don’t want the most qualified doctor, you want the right skin-color. That’ll learn ‘em.

affirmative action based on race makes no real sense. affirmative action, if it were based solely on class, would work better and level out the playing field for poorer people in a way that isn’t obviously and overtly racist.

Today Marianne Williamson decided to announce that she doesn't think black people can get into college based on merit instead of melanin. Talk about the soft bigotry of low expectations. This position also means Marianne is in favor of discriminations against Asians.

It seems that any help given to any minorities at this time is beyond the comprehension of SCOTUS. This distorted ruling will be more protective of whites in power. Poorly thought out but you know the Justices have their own $$ politics to cope with right now.

Sorry the perception a Black person can only get a place because they aren’t smart is racist. For institutions to create rules to artificially increase numbers to make a few people feel virtuous is systemic racism. How about fixing the systems that allow bad schools to operate?
