A Canadian woman living in the United States was shocked when she compared the #ingredients in two #Heinz #ketchup bottles — one manufactured in the U.S. and one in Canada. Heinz Tomato Ketchup (America): Tomato concentrate from red ripe tomatoes, distilled vinegar, high fructose corn syrup, corn syrup, salt, spice, onion powder, natural flavoring. Heinz Tomato Ketchup (Canada): Tomato paste (from fresh, ripe tomatoes), sugar, vinegar, salt spices ca.news.yahoo.com/woman-shoc…

But have you tasted the Canadian one? It’s not good. Real shame that yummy stuff is bad for you…

You can actually buy either version in the US. The real issue is people are ignorant on making healthy choices. I can't vote for a nanny state because for every reasonable choice you make for the population there will be several asinine/evil restrictions as well.

So much of our food is deceptively bad. I read labels all the time, but it is a minefield out there! Sadly, my favorite ketchup just closed up shop: medium.com/@scottnorton/sir-…

Humans in the USA don't want to read labels, don't want their fast food, oversize, excessive sugar/salt taken away, want pills for every ailment, and seek immediate gratification. Meanwhile, the current USA Administration teaches us not to question 'science', mocks/shames us if we do and that we are 'perfect' just the way we are.

This is a nothing burger with either ketchup on it. Identical amount of sugar with an identical insulin response. HFCS isn't bad inherently because it's almost identical to sugar. It's bad because it's in everything.

There's all sorts of unhealthy ingredients that the US uses that are banned in other countries.
