There are three categories of response to the times in which we live. 1/ Don’t change anything because everything is basically OK and anything that has to be fixed will fix itself. (What iceberg?) 2/ Make incremental changes here and there and hope for the best. (We’ll still hit the iceberg but a little bit later and at a slightly different angle) 3/ Recognize we’re headed straight for the iceberg and turn around right now. (A wise, responsible, conscious economic u-turn)

Your educational privilege makes you naive to think that the average American can even comprehend your sentences.

People seems to forget change is hard, a total change or bust attitude might not get what you want. There are predecessors needed for change to happen (that people need to fight on local level to make meaningful challenging on a national level even possible).

Plus... When people think "Equal OPPORTUNITY" eventually becomes "Equal OUTCOME", It is WELL KNOWN that "Everybody EQUAL" means "Everyone AT THE BOTTOM." That is the MAGA drive, to be FREE to use all ways you know of to be BETTER than the masses around you. Guns, Power, etc.

the fourth response is to vote, which we've been doing for many decades and which got us exactly here. we'll do more of that, i think, since oligarchs decide.

I vote for number "3" ... Recognize we’re headed straight for the iceberg ... and turn the ship around right now ... (A wise, responsible, conscious economic u-turn)
