It's extraordinary and extraordinarily dangerous. We need an American president who will declare a climate emergency, putting us on a path of mass mobilization for a just transition from a dirty to a clean economy. Not later. NOW.
At our @UN Headquarters in New York, we can feel the deteriorating air quality as smoke from the wildfires in Canada moves south. With global temperatures on the rise, the need to urgently reduce wildfire risk is critical. We must make peace with nature. We cannot give up.

If people had #UBI, we could mobilize ourselves. But you exclude the policy from your platform. How do you expect any of us to mobilize without the freedom that #BasicIncome grants us?

I am in Toronto, Canada and what we are experiencing feels like the beginning of what scientists described about nuclear winter. Today the sunlight is seems blocked by soot due to wildfires. It is cold, dark and smells of smoke/ burn smell.

Please don’t let this faux hysteria sink your campaign. We need freethinkers.

I think the next step for right wingers is stating that Nature is Woke! Nature needs to be canceled.

Smoke was worse in Denver from the Yellowstone fires of 1988, but that's history, and it doesn't count.

War - like the one you support in ukraine - is one of the biggest drivers of climate change.

No, no more crises and emergencies that are really intended to strip more civil rights. Stop making everything a crisis that has Americans bounding from one "emergency" to another. Stop the hysteria.
