What's going on here? In America, if a citizen wants to say "This is why we don't like cops here," they get to say that. Cops don't then get to attack them for daring to say it. Police should be present at Gay Pride to protect the gay population from dangerous prejudice. They're not there to be an expression of it themselves.

Yeah I'm sure that's what happened

With all due respect please don’t do that thing where everyone emotionally reacts to short clips of police arrests w/out context pretending to know the whole story. If you’re going to be president you mustn’t bandwagon. Plenty of stories turn out differently when context is later presented.

I'm not familiar with this incident nor with this group of specific activists, but to suggest that activists are always peaceful and law abiding in general, would be a serious misnomer. In turn, to suggest that the FBI doesn't have these groups on their radar and have informants, would also be a serious misnomer. And for sure, more than likely the local police would be informed of such. My point, this isn't Mayberry RFD anymore. There is so much going on behind the scenes that we are told absolutely nothing about - and it ain't pretty.

"Police should be present at Gay Pride to protect the gay population from dangerous prejudice." NO. You want SPECIAL RIGHTS. They deserve EQUAL RIGHTS, just like every other American citizen.

You should wait before commenting on this. We don’t truly know what happened. Remember when Obama fired Shirley Sherrod?

@marwilliamson you might want facts! That’s not what happened! He was arrested b/c there was a warrant for his arrest for being a thief! #DoBetter

What happened before this? They are being detained. But what are the charges and what happened before this? I'm not fan of the cops when they fuck up. But what did they do wrong here?

I think it was the Bud Light frisbees that the sheriffs considered dangerous.

Police have NEVER protected the lgbtq population. It has always been like this, cops marginalizing the most vulnerable populations. Cops exist to serve and protect the ruling class: white cis het male supremacy patriarchy
