To take a radically humanitarian stance is the most revolutionary act possible today. To say to political and economic chieftains, to cynics and charlatans and whatever other purveyors of the madness, that you will not be deterred from your faith in love and your allegiance to its dictates, makes you one with the most revolutionary field of consciousness and the greatest hope for the human race.

Sounds great until you remember the US isn't a Cult. You want a cultural shift but the Nation needs a pragmatist who puts the Constitution first. The two aren't incompatible, but you're running for the wrong job.

There are few documents with more of a spiritual and humanitarian core than the Declaration of Independence. Check out Lincoln’s Second Inaugural while you’re at it.

Its a spectacular document not tied to the governance of the US, which is the sole responsibility of the President.

According to both Lincoln and Roosevelt, the Declaration is the moral radar of the presidency. The Declaration is our vision and the Constitution is the blueprint for its execution. Both are needed. Lincoln viewed “All men are created equal” as the requirement for abolition.

I dont think any one person is capable of both upholding the Constitution and leading with their heart. The Constitution requires the US border be tightly defended and controlled. But compassion calls people to do the exact opposite.
