Hard to imagine a greater man-made danger to humanity than nuclear bombs but AI might be it. It’s threat to us far outweighs potential benefits regardless of the cynically dreamy eyed illusions being fed us by tech billionaires. Bravo ⁦@NaomiAKleintheguardian.com/commentisfre…

AI is more of a danger than nuclear weapons at least insofar as nukes may or may not ever be used again but AI is being used right now and will probably keep being used.

ROBOCOP MAKERS: We make the most advanced robots ever 😎 CITIZEN NAIVE: So they can do the shitty jobs for us and eliminate the exploitive practice of wage labor, right? 😀 ROBOCOP MAKERS: (Blank Stare) 😐 CITIZEN NAIVE: You're just gonna sell them to the cops aren't you? 🤔
“By creating a regulatory body at which the biggest players get seats at the table, they can develop legal hurdles that effectively block new, less capitalized players from participating […] cynically jockeying for an advantage” rushkoff.medium.com/ai-panic…

Big tech execs are peddling this “AI is dangerous” rap to discourage open-source software that takes away from their monopoly. And as always, we overestimate AI and underestimate consciousness. Computer engineers are no better equipped to determine what is “conscious” than we are
#ClimateChange comes to mind immediately for me. Glad to know it's not really a priority for you.

I support you and your run for presidency but AI being the greatest threat to mankind? This is reminding me of the Y2K hysteria 🙄
