“Unqualified” and “unserious” are such powerful words, suggesting as they do that those who are clearly unserious about protecting the earth from Big Oil’s war against it, or unqualified to address the deeper roots of our societal dysfunction, are somehow the “serious and qualified” people we must continue to follow down the rosy path of America’s decline. What they are “qualified” to do - and “serious” about doing - is protecting the system from any fundamental change.
