The debt ceiling deal was a negotiation with economic terrorists. It protects those who do not need protection - who if anything should be held more accountable - and it inflicts harm on people who are most vulnerable. Also, it had nothing to do with fiscal responsibility. If McCarthy had really been about fiscal responsibility, he would’ve been open to cutting the military budget as well as letting Biden spend money on IRS agents who would’ve caught wealthy tax cheaters. Situations like this just keep moving the Overton window further and further away from a “government of the people, by the people, and for the people.”

Yea and Biden could have done a lot of this under reconciliation when the dems controlled all 3 branches of government. Now he just pretends to want to when he knows it won't happen. Both sides are the same.

I suppose you would have preferred to default and destroy the economy? A responsible president has to be a pragmatist, not just an idealist.

Biden is just as much an economic terrorist as McCarthy. Dems enable Republicans then play the victim even tho the outcome is exactly what they wanted. You know this dynamic. It would empower your candidacy if you called it out.

Naïveté or purposely ignorant. The government was never designed to be “for the people” with all of the layers of checks and balances ultimately the people have very little power. If anyone has a problem with that then fight to change the constitution.
