I really like MW and agree w so much of what she says, but excluding #UBI is a deal-breaker for me. One of the big sticking points w the #WritersStrike is the studios wanting to use AI to write scripts. It's a perfect time to introduce #UBI to a VERY influential group.

I’ve never excluded UBI. I said that last time, and this time. It does not correct the fundamental flaws of hypercapitalism, but as a stopgap measure (perhaps two to five years?) while the ship is being righted and economic justice is being re-introduced into the system, I think it’s good.

Theres 9 million food insecure children in this country & 35 million food insecure adults. There is 4.2 million young people experiencing homelessness in a single year. 1 out of every 30 kids from 13-17 experience homelessness within a year. UBI ELIMINATES ALL OF THIS.

ubi should be the fire escape, not the ladder the fire dept brings to a fire. it should be there, ready to be used in an emergency, not subject to the whim of overburdened government services.

What about Marianne's baby bonds policy proposal? I understand it's not UBI, and I look forward to UBI, but I see baby bonds as an equally ambitious idea which could segue the country into UBI (please don't shit on me, kind replies only)
