We need universal healthcare, but we need more than that. We need to proactively create health, not just treat sickness. That begins with the food we eat. We need to push back the forces of Big Ag, Big Food and Big Chem when they devitalize and even poison our food to increase their short term profit. I wish more people in government felt the same way as you about this subject. We as citizens should have an inalienable right to eat healthy. Our leadership should follow the European model and send these industries a message that some things are more important than profit.

Actually, if we fix our food problem (no gmo, organic only, clean water no fluoride or other chemicals) most of our health issues would be eliminated. Let’s start there. Universal healthcare won’t work if people continue to eat fast food.
