Our friends on the far right think it’s bad if things are “free,” except when it comes to “free stuff” like multi-billion subsidies to companies already making billions of dollars in profit. 🧵

“Free” health care, tuition, child care, paid family leave etc. simply means paid for by your own taxes dollars!

The purpose of tax revenue should be to promote the common good, not simply create and maintain an exclusive casino where only a few hold all the cards.

How can we “afford” free universal health care, for example? We pay for it now; we just pay for it with our lives. Tens of thousands in America die each year from lack of health care.

Honest question - I’m trying to learn and have an open mind. Can you please share some examples of these types of subsidies to corporations? How do the dollars flow? Thank you

Until profit is taken out of health care, the US government can not afford health care for all.

And Our friends on the far left think it’s great if things are “free,” particularly when it comes to “free stuff” like multi-billion subsidies to companies already making billions of dollars in profit. Far right is at least honest. Far left pretend that they are for the people!

If you're ending subsidies, then do it across the board. End subsidies.

I’ve heard many politicians speak about these hypocrisies, yet non actually do anything meaningful. I have trust issues with politicians now. This type of speech makes me think your just virtue signalling. I guess we’ll see

Understand that the rich and elite Republicans and Democrats you keep loyally putting back into office will never be affected by the decisions they make. That is unless it is a tax cut. Their retirement is all set! Healthcare set! Monthly bills paid! Think about that!
